Tokyo Trends - Choom

Hey!

I wanted to highlight a prominent trend I've seen in street fashion, that's continued to dominate since I arrived here in September!

Wearing lingerie or a sheer, lacy layer over casual clothes is something that everyone seems to be doing! It can literally work with any style. Aileron A.D.G has clothes that fit any cool girl's image and if you fling on a little lacy number it adds a little femme edge to your outfit.

This also works with a super casual look like this one by Spinns. Although the colours are plain and simple the frills of the vest are really cute and add a nice touch. Considering that they stock this sort of thing in Spinns ie the H&M of Japan it really shows how this sort of styling has gone mainstream.

Another great example of how this layering can work with any style. Swankiss really takes it up a notch with how they style the sheer layers. Larme kei seems to be gaining attention overseas so this sort of style is perfect for that!

For a more classy lady look, my go to shop is a little shop in Shimokitazawa called Charroll Vintage. The owner spent a year in London and gets some of her stock from there so it feels really nostalgic whenever I visit!

Finally, Bubbles Tokyo with it's super on trend styling of the sheer piece. Wear it with silky bottoms to make it look like you're wearing pyjamas! That's totally acceptable for outerwear right?

Till next week!

Choom xoxo
