Mix and Match

Hey!

Welcome to our first post of 2016! We decided to go with a 'new year new us' theme (original, we know) and incorporate that message into our outfits! Also instead of doing our usual separate outfits we combined ourselves to bring you four outfit inspirations!

So first we'll explain our individual outfits! Choom recently became a 6% DokiDoki shopgirl and since then discovered a love for OTT outfits and clashing prints. Her outfit is a wicked mix of hippie and cyber alien, broken up by a bit of white. One of her goals for this year is to learn from the other 6% staff about how to create her own original look.

New year new hairstyle for Choom! She still has braids but now (although you can't see clearly) she has cornrowed a heart on her head. Soooo cute! She also wears a #follow headband to accessorise because another one of her goals is to step up her social media game! As if she didn't live on instagram already...

Shady feels weird without her pastel braids (which will be coming back soon) but is still a kawaii queen in this outfit! Her look combines all kinds of cute animal graphics in colourful shades. Her top says 'KAWAII' because that's what she hopes to be this year, KAWAII! Her adorable skirt is covered in Pokémon characters. Shady's always been a bit of a gamer so this year she wants to chill out more and level up her Pokémon (and other games) stats.

We have always been up for a little improvisation and so we both accessorised our chokers differently. Choom hung her alien choker from her Sailor Moon earrings and Shady used her heart choker as cool headgear. This is to symbolise two of Shady's goals - to show the people she loves just how much she cares about them (as she feels she doesn't do it enough) and to be healthy again so she can come to visit Choom in Tokyo soon!! 

Make up makes any outfit complete so we matched with the theme of our individual outfits, Choom's being very cyber and Shady's being sweet.

Now for the combined outfit! First we have the super-duper-over-the-top-everything-clashes outfit. Just like this outfit we're really going to go for it this year and push the boundaries with our outfits. We like to be a bit different and quirky so we're going to take that and run with it all year!

The second outfit is more subdued but still very cute. It still has a lot of elements of Harajuku fashion which we take heavy inspiration from and will continue to in 2016!

As for the new format of our blog, in order to keep the content good and the outfits on point we've decided to vary the types of posts we will be making. As well as outfit posts we will be posting collections, how-to's, what's trending etc sort of posts this year. We hope you look forward to it.
