School Essentials, Kawaii Style! - Choom

Hey!

So it's back to uni for me! Of course I had to find the perfect stationery to ahem, aid my studies. From travel accessories to pencils, everything for me has to be kawaii! My backpack from Smiggle is both practical and fun! It has loads of pockets and compartments and can fit A4 sized papers and a laptop in quite easily. I added a fluffy heart key chain for extra fluff power! 

Frilly Frills - Choom

This outfit was originally worn to a Lolita meet in Paris. I needed to throw something together from the bits and bobs I had in my suitcase since I had just come from Japan. I don't own much Lolita styled clothing so I did the best with what I had and I think it turned out pretty well!

Tokyo Recap - Choom

I'm back from Tokyo! The year flew by and I enjoyed every second of it but now it's time to get back to reality and finish my degree. Last year let's do this! So this week I wanted to do a recap of my fave five looks from the past year!

Shady @ Hyper Japan

So last year Choom & I went to Hyper Japan together but now that she's experiencing the real thing, I decided to go solo! Well this time along I brought my friend Rory, who is just as fabulous. If you've forgotten, Hyper Japan is a festival based in London celebrating Japanese culture with lots of interesting stalls and activities.

Getting Wiggy With It

We like to change our hair a lot, and with this it often alters the feel of the outfit. So we completely switched it up this week and wore pink wigs and tbh we're loving it. They can change up a look in an instant, which we're constantly doing, so well worth an investment!

Choom - Pixel Gal

Hey!

I was inspired by Akihabara, the Otaku/gaming capital of Tokyo, to shoot this outfit. I like anime and gaming but I wouldn't call myself an otaku at all. I think the aesthetics of this area are really cool, especially at night when it's all lit up or even during the day it's pretty buzzing. I couldn't find a really cool spot to showcase the area unfortunately but if you're ever in Tokyo I would recommend visiting!

Winter Wrap Up

It's officially cold and we want to be warm, and stylish! Isn't it the hardest thing to be both? We sometimes feel like throwing on a onesie and our comfiest shoes (we own flat shoes believe it or not!) to wear on bitter wintery days. But it is possible to be practical and cute!

Choom's Challenge - Braid Hairstyles

As well as our usual outfit posts I am starting Choom's Challenge! We all have strengths and weaknesses when it comes to certain areas of fashion, and I want to tackle these head on!

I recently changed my braids, they're now thicker and include cornrows (and even a little heart) but I'm sure these will work with most braids! These are my braids without any styling.

We're all about girly fashions and being cute whatever the weather. It was really rainy and dull when we shot these but the weather will never stop us from being kawaii!

We wanted to bring our fave 2D anime characters to life! Rather than do an all out cosplay we wanted to incorporate gaming/anime inspiration into our outfits, because let's be honest, you can't quite call a cosplay an OOTD?? We picked two different games-turned-anime to base our outfits on, Shady chose Pokémon and Choom chose Dangan Ronpa.

Shady - Dead End

I am a huge fan of anime, especially creepy anime. And Mirai Nikki (Future Diary) happens to be my fave series. So when I saw this crop top featuring the main female protagonist, Gasai Yuno, I just had to snap it up! I decided to go to an abandoned building for this shoot as it reminded me of one of the eerie settings seen in the show.

Since I'm living in Tokyo now I get to experience all the cool things the city has to offer. There are a lot of themed cafés so I decided to visit one I've had my eye on for a while...the Harajuku Kawaii Monster Café! Obviously I had to go dressed appropriately for such an occasion.
